The rich programme of events for the closing day of the wine and culture festival includes a dawn concert, a meeting with author Nicolò Mazza de’ Piccioli, and opera arias in the afternoon
The final day in San Lorenzo Nuovo for “Fermento – Festival of Natural Wines and the Local Area”, promoted by the Municipality as part of the PNRR Ideal Vegetal City project, in collaboration with the Associazione La Festa delle Medie, which curated the programme.
After the success of last weekend’s events, on Sunday, May 24, 2026, the festival comes to a close with further high-quality proposals in the fields of music, literature and opera.
The evocative dawn concert
The day begins at sunrise, at 5:35 a.m., with the “Dawn Concert”. A highly evocative event, held at the ruins of the Church of San Giovanni in Val di Lago, located just a short distance from San Lorenzo Nuovo and the shores of Lake Bolsena, and an integral part of the PNRR project.
A new performance area has been created here, ready to welcome, in a solo piano concert, the young Umbrian musician Alessio Pedini, devoted to composing his own works, highly appreciated by both audiences and critics, as well as to the refinement of his study of celebrated composers such as Bach, Scarlatti, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt and Rachmaninov.
Meeting the author
The day will continue at 10:00 a.m. at Caffè Centrale, in Piazza Europa, with “Breakfast with the Author”. The guest will be Nicolò Mazza de’ Piccioli, born in Bergamo in 1984 and a resident of Rome for the past twenty years. He has worked in cinema in various roles and is, among other things, the author of short films and documentaries. His first novel, “Scontrosa Grazia”, received recognition at the 2024 Premio InediTo – Colline di Torino.
In conversation with the author will be Alessandra Sabbatini, editor, ghostwriter and proofreader. She collaborates with the Carmen Prestia Literary Agency on the selection of unpublished manuscripts.
Opera arias to close the day
The final event, “Opera Arias”, is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta (Convent of the Capuchin Friars).
On stage will be two brilliant internationally renowned opera singers, Silvia Pasini (mezzo-soprano) and Andrea Carcassi (bass), accompanied on the piano by Davide Dellisanti, a highly prestigious musician and conductor who has collaborated with important figures on the international opera scene, as well as artistic director of the Taormina Opera Stars festival.
